On the 22nd May 2017, not long after meeting through nearby Daventry Cycling Club our three founding members Geoff, Martin and John went on a bike ride after work. Afterwards they agreed to ride every week and so started to invite more people along. The Group quickly grew to 7 regular riders and was christened "Old Cranks" in inevitable W
On the 22nd May 2017, not long after meeting through nearby Daventry Cycling Club our three founding members Geoff, Martin and John went on a bike ride after work. Afterwards they agreed to ride every week and so started to invite more people along. The Group quickly grew to 7 regular riders and was christened "Old Cranks" in inevitable Whatsapp Group, Strava and Facebook pages.
Today we have over 20 riders, although some have live many miles away, that all share a passion for cycling, whilst not taking themselves too seriously.
We ride most Wednesday evenings Spring thru Autumn from the Berrywood Road/Drive Roundabout whilst the light allows.
We hold longer rides on a Saturdays and Sundays and each year organise at least one multi-day ride.
On the closest Wednesday to our anniversary we hold a ride that ends at the Melbourne Arms which acts as our unofficial club

Most things are organised by our Geoff but a few of us pitch in to help and sow confusion as needed.
We are a pretty welcoming bunch and there are no membership fees or complicated forms.
Potential new members are usually invited to ride three or four times with us before a vote is held on "their membership" if you'd like to ride with us j
